One Thousand Tanabata Wind Chimes
A thousand Edo wind chimes in vermilion, which is meant to ward off evil spirits, will welcome you in a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Since ancient times, it has been believed that the sound of wind chimes ward off evil spirits and that no misfortune will befall those within earshot of them. Each of our Edo wind chimes is handmade. The five-color strips signify the five-element theory of the Shinohara family, who also named the Edo wind chimes. Vermilion is the color of the lanterns used to ward off bad luck and to worship the spirits of the dead, while the sound of the bells wards off bad luck.
